That's one of my greatest fears; a showcase for people to praise.

Of late, i've been reflecting about it so much that i've come to a conclusion. it is so easy to love someone you hardly know and difficult to love someone you know.

Hospital visits and speaking with migrant workers to me is no big deal. Afterall, i see them once a week? twice a month? Besides, they're often very appreciative of you when you help them..

It is difficult to love family members, colleagues, and close friends who demand alot from you.

i've heard personal stories of religious who do not get along very well with each other in community living.

i think Jesus' command is pretty demanding. No wonder folks in HongKong says 'Don't speak Jesus to Me' whenever morale values are referenced, jeanne anne hsi

the Joy of menial tasks and our technology progression

i stared at the automated sprinkling system. It was real cool. It turned a 180 degrees and back again to water the plants and the two huge coconut trees.

i shouldn't be so impressed. Afterall, i've worked in an industry which aims to automate anything that's repetitive.

i couldn't help comparing my previous day's Joy with this cool thing.

i was running at The Peak.

Along the way, a worker was watering the plants. i asked for water and from way up there, he sprinkled some over to me.

The Joy of receiving droplets of water from a stranger! More than that, i also experienced Being Fully Alive! And a serene kinda trust. It has been sadly diminishing in lives where we build walls in a bid to be caution of strangers...

A long long time ago, a carpenter used to take the materials and build the goods. Upon completion, he can admire his completed tables and chairs before selling his creation.

Nowadays, a worker becomes part of the process. One is cut off from the finished good. Almost like a limb being cut off from the body.

Perhaps a better way to do this is to allow the worker, once in a while, to see his finished good. Else he may be not know that the work of his hands created a cathedral, a temple, roads for people to walk on!

What did you create today? jeanne anne hsi
